Economic Development

Michelle Bisbing is the President of the Pocono Mountains Economic Development Corporation (PMEDC), appointed in July 2025 after more than two decades with the organization. In her leadership role, she oversees the operations of PMEDC and its affiliated authorities, guiding initiatives that drive business growth and regional economic vitality. [pmedc.com]

Before becoming President, Michelle served as PMEDC’s Vice President and Director of Marketing, where she led business attraction, retention, marketing initiatives, and grant administration. Her career began with 14 years in workforce development at Monroe County Job Training and Monroe County CareerLink. [pmedc.com], [peda.org]

Her impact has been widely recognized—most notably with the 2024 Developer of the Year Award from the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association, honoring her role in projects generating over $119 million in economic impact and approximately 1,500 jobs. [pennsnortheast.com]

Michelle serves on several regional boards, including Penn’s Northeast, the Monroe County Historical Association, the Pocono Counties Workforce Development Area, and AllOne Foundation & Charities. Katherine Kearney is a Program Manager with the Alzheimer's Association focusing on bringing brain health to all communities. Katie has spent her entire career working for non-profits. Outside of work, Katie is committed to historic preservation and is a board member of the Historic Architectural Review Board in Scranton. She also loves cross stitching, knitting and singing at her Church in South Scranton.

President, The CHEMO Bag Inc.  With over 22 years of experience in the financial services sector at PNC N.A., Melissa Healy currently holds the position of Assistant Vice President and Client Service Advisor for PNC Private Bank. Previously, she excelled as a Branch Manager for 14 years. Melissa is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to her clients and her Private Bank team while actively contributing to her community. She has served on the board of The CHEMO Bag Inc. for more than 11 years, initially as Secretary and currently as President, where she is instrumental in expanding the organization’s reach from the Lehigh Valley to 24 infusion centers throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. Her personal experiences, including the loss of her mother to cancer and the challenges faced by family members battling the disease, have profoundly fueled her passion for the organization and its mission. This commitment drives her efforts to ensure that the “Bag of Hope” comfort bags are delivered to as many chemotherapy patients as possible. Beyond her professional commitments at PNC Bank and The CHEMO Bag, Melissa enjoys golfing and cherishing quality time with her family, friends, and grandchildren.

Michael Tukeva is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Pocono Mountains United Way, where he leads the organization’s mission to improve health, education, and financial stability for individuals and families across the Pocono region of Pennsylvania. In his role, Michael oversees strategic partnerships, community investments, and innovative programs that address some of the region’s most pressing challenges, including housing instability, food insecurity, and access to essential services. Under Michael’s leadership, Pocono Mountains United Way has strengthened cross‑sector collaboration among nonprofits, healthcare systems, government, and business leaders to drive measurable community impact. He has been instrumental in expanding initiatives such as housing stability programs, food access efforts, and the PoconoInfo helpline, ensuring residents can connect quickly to critical resources during times of need. Michael is widely recognized for his leadership during times of crisis.
