RECAP
Shayna Canty, who many Rotarians know from Monroe County Meals on Wheels, shared the benefits of a service year with AmeriCorps while Jolene Miller shared her experience during a second term with AmeriCorps Vista, currently as a Community Volunteer Ambassador with the Delaware Water Gap.  AmeriCorps Vista focuses on behind-the-scenes work like fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and grant writing.  AmeriCorps volunteers can focus their efforts in the US on Disaster Relief, Education, Healthy Futures, Economic Opportunity, Environmental Stewardship, or supporting Veterans and Military Families.  Expanded life experiences, professional development, stipends and many other benefits result from service time with AmeriCorps.  For more information for you or someone you know who may be interested, reach out to Shaynana72@gmail.com or Jolene_Miller@partner.nps.gov
