President's Corner
Greetings Rotarians!  Have you heard what the evening club is up to?  Want to join in on the fun?
On Wednesday January 29th from 4:30-6:30pm they are organizing a service project with Bridges Out of Poverty.  They need more volunteers to help serve pizza and salad for the participants, packing leftover containers for the members to take home and cleaning up.  The food is going to be provided by Mady's Angels.  This will be at Faith United Method Church in Stroudsburg right off of Chipperfield.  Reach out to Stacy Rodriguez for more info!

There is also an upcoming marketing meeting coming up at the end of January.  Please join us!  After many years of service, Jessica has stepped down as chair but will co-chair the remainder of this year with Jennifer Narkavich.  Reach out to Jennifer for more information at stroudsburgsrotary@gmail.com.

We will also be having an open discussion about our Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser on 1/23 at our lunchtime meeting and a fellowship event on 1/24 at the Willowtree.  Check back on our website this weekend for all events to be uploaded!

Are you chairing a committee or is there an event that needs to be put on our calendar?  Fill out the marketing form and email it stroudsburgsrotary@gmail.com so it can get published!  Thank you!

Blessings,
Jeff Gilbert

Beekeeping & The Honey Bees
Erik Diemer of Blossum & Buzz Beekeeping spoke to us about his experience working with the bees.  he has been doing this for 13 years.  Honey bees are responsible for 1/3 of all the food we eat today.  How they make honey is from 20-30 flowers per flight and the nectar is transferred from bee to bee and then put into the hive.  Honey combs is the was.  Summer bees only live 3 weeks till they work themselves to death.  Winter bees live the longest....for months!
