Recap Last week Mark Baylis shared about 9/11 and Valor. "Paul’s House accommodates up to 13 Veterans a day. We serve 3 healthy meals a day that are specifically designed to help with health challenges faced by homeless veterans." ~ Valor websitePaul House requires a large number of volunteers to perform a wide variety of tasks.
They need Cooks, Administrative support, maintenance, people answering phones, sorting and receiving food, clothing donations, preparing for stand-downs, delivering furniture, and taking homeless Veterans to appointments/work.
To get involved in this critical aspect of Veterans assistance please contact us at (570) 664-6468 or info@valorclinic.org. Volunteering and Auction : New members Russell Little and Tiffany Lyons volunteered at Valor Stand Down this past week. It's a wonderful service opportunity to help our Veterans. Other Rotarians that volunteer on a monthly basis are; Leslie Underhill, Bob & wife Sonia Riley, Lance Godfrey. We appreciate all you do. Russell and Tiffany were also the highest bidders on the auction of the WickIt candles newest collection. This was inspired by Danica Haretenfels' dad's passing, 911 and most recent the death of Charlie Kirk. This one is called Always With You. Kirby Upright was also a high bidder on the other candle. All funds were donated to our Rotary club. Thank you Danica! Past President Stacy Rodriguez presented Mike Gonzalez, Food Pantry Coordinator of Stroudsburg Wesleyan Food Pantry with the $4000 grant check, which was comprised of Stroudsburgs Rotary Foundation Grant of $2000 and Rotary District 7410's matching grant of $2000. Pictured with President Ed Schaefer. This money will help them with repairs on their walk-in refrigeration/freezers. They feed approximately 500 families a month. |
