January is Vocational Service Month

"January is Rotary’s Vocational Service Month, a time to reflect on how we can use our professional expertise to make a difference.  Vocational Service is about more than applying skills; it’s about living Rotary values in our work, promoting ethical practices, and helping others grow in their careers." Volunteering Appreciation

Salvation Army Bell Ringing Volunteers
A heartfelt thank you to our Rotarians that endured the cold in supporting the Salvation Army Bell Ringing this year in front of Vault 636. Through your time, energy and commitment, you helped raise $342 which was part of a united effort in making a meaningful impact for families in our community. WE appreciate your service. We believe they reached their goal of $146,390 with the efforts of all volunteers involved in Monroe County. If you'd like to read about the history click here.

VALOR VOLUNTEERS

Appreciation goes out to our Rotary Volunteers who partnered with Valor in organizing, packing & delivering Thanksgiving and Christmas meal boxes.  Your time and compassion for our Veterans & their families helped them experience a dignified, respectful and loving meal prep for the holidays.  Your commitment to service embodies the true spirit of Rotary.  Thank you, Russell Little, Tiffany Lyons, Leslie Underhill, Gene Prospero, Grace D'Amico, Stacy Rodriguez, Lance Godfrey and Dave Yarosh & apologies to any Rotarians we may have missed.

Habitat for Humanity's ReStore Volunteers

Giving back with your time and energy to help The Restore with their annual appeal letter was very much appreciated. Helping fold and stuff envelopes for hours and/or days did not go unnoticed. Conversations and laughter filled the air as we combined our efforts with MSVP (Monroe Senior Volunteer Program) volunteers in this well needed effort. Kudos to all, Russell Little, Tiffany Lyons, Peter Andrews & Stacy Rodriguez.

This was a season of giving by many Rotarians and it shows how much abundance is in your hearts.

District Update

District Governor Tim Genetti attended and shared some concerns at our lunch meeting.  Rotary International wants to merge District 7410 into larger District. A letter was sent disputing this. The only possibility for success is that our District 7410 needs to maintain 1100 active membersAll clubs are doing their part to bring in new members who will be engaged in joining our Rotary family. DG Tim Genetti's goal challenge for Stroudsburgs Rotary is to net 6 new members.  Let's aim for 10 before March 31.  We have two new applicants, let's keep them coming.  If any Honorary Rotarians are able to become active again that would be very helpful.
