Recap- Thank you, Barbara Van Nortwick, co-founder of the Monroe County Dementia Coalition. Barbara shared about the organization bringing awareness and training to Monroe County. Participant John Dennis confirmed that it was a much nicer way, more independent, than having someone just come up and wipe your mouth for you. I heard initially that prior to the PMUW backpack giveaway that this was a Rotary project. Stroudsburgs Rotary participated in the very 1st CLIMB Event for the American Cancer Society - It was a great day for a Climb on Saturday, May 17, 2025 and nice to have Stroudsburgs Rotary name on the T-shirts. There were 60 participants, with 4 Rotarians present; Amy Leiser, Gene Prospero, Pres Elect Ed Schaefer, President Stacy Rodriguez and our on the road life saver with snacks John Leiser. Thank you, Ed, for setting up our corner alongside the Scouts table, our Rotary Blowup looked great, and so happy we were able to pass out Prime drinks and powder mix. That brought the participants straight to us to share about Rotary. Appreciation to us all for the breakdown. Thank you, John for meeting us and sharing your "kids" treats with us to help us make it to the end. Thank you, Amy for putting up with us slow pokes. You probably could have climbed the mountain twice to our once. It was a great day of bonding and found out that Amy's daughter is actually enrolled in the Boys Scouts. Thank you, Gene for treating us to tacos at Zach's Taco Shack. They were great tacos. |
