GSE Team 2007

District 3270 Pakistan and Afghanistan

On May 10^th 2007 we had the opportunity to listen to the GSE Team from

Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Jalal Ansari the team’s leader discussed that he would like our club to join with their’s to donate used medical equipment to use in the small hospitals in Pakistan that are in need. Jalal shared a quote with us, “that marriage is a three ring circus, engagement ring, wedding ring and suffering.” Jalal introduced us to the rest of his team. Nida Arabi, who is a general practitioner. She discussed how her experience here has been wonderful and it just keeps getting better. Sarah Ahmed is in Human Resources. She has her MBA in Marketing and Management. Salma Butt is a Development Practitioner, as trainer in communications and technical writing and has her Masters in Psychology.  She works with young students and would like to further her education in America.  Jalal saved the best for last and introduced the club to Javed Jistani who is a senior police officer in Pakistan. This is the most prestigious job in Pakistan.  He has been a police officer for 7 years and has his masters in sociology. He said he has learned so much from the hospitality that he has received from being here.

The following week Bob Wehe and Rob Sedwin hosted the group on a trip to New York City. Pakistani food was the menu of the day along with trips to The United Nations, Ground Zero, Central Park, Battery Park and The Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center.
