What happened last week?

Bob Wehe was called to find the Queen.  Did he find her?  Nope.  $126 rolls over!

There will be a fellowship event on May 12th from 5-7pm at the Willow Tree.

Dues invoices were distributed be last week.  Please pay by May 31st.  You can pay by check or online.  Please give checks to Marlo.

Project Healing Waters will take place July 12th at Ray J's.  Looking for volunteers.  Stay tuned for more info!

Need a few more volunteers for Spaghetti Dinner.  If you have not signed up yet, you are missing out on a great time.  This was an event I LOVED participating in because it is very hands on and I LOVED working in the kitchen with everyone.  Come on and volunteer....you know you want to!  Placemat ads are still available too.

The basket that our club donated for District Conference garnered the most money!  WHOO HOO!!!  Special thank you to Cherry Valley Vineyard and the Sherman Theatre.

Our Speaker:
Joseph Susinskas and Emily Raymond spoke on the Active Shooter Response Training.  The Citizens Response o a Violent Intruder should follow the ALICE method:
A-Alert:Anyone can call 911 not just the manager
L-Lockdown:Barricade room
I-Inform:Use social media to keep people up to date, give real time information, suggestions
C-Counter:Active threat coming at you-interrupt skill set needed to shoot.
E-Evacuate-if possible get out

National average is 5-6 minutes for police to respond.
Passive vs proactive strategy-Have a plan for your business, have reunification plan
The Stroudsburgs Rotary Foundation Committee is seeking submissions from membership for a District Grant Project.  These projects will be submitted to the Club Board of Directors for their approval prior to submission to the District for their ultimate selection.  Projects must fit into one of these areas of focus:

  • Disease prevention and treatment
  • Water and Sanitation
  • Maternal and child health
  • Basic education and literacy
  • Economic and community development
Members submitting and idea project must be willing to be one of at least tow project coordinators.  The project idea should include a simple plan and budget appropriate contact information for any partners and the beneficiary.
